The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence welcomes applicants of all nationalities who hold a bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) discipline such as computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, physics, or any other related scientific or engineering discipline from a university accredited or recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.
Applicants must submit their completed degree certificates and official transcripts when submitting their applications. For higher-level students, they may initially submit a copy of their official transcript and a letter indicating their expected graduation date. Upon admission, they must also submit their completed degree certificate and official transcript. The certificate must also be attested by the UAE Ministry of Education (for degrees obtained in the UAE) or a certificate of recognition from the UAE Ministry of Education (for degrees obtained outside the UAE), no later than the student’s first semester at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
All submitted documents must be originally written in English or include a certified English translation. Official academic documents must also bear the seal and signature of the relevant university authorities.
All applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency by submitting a valid copy of one of the following certificates:
It should be noted that the TOEFL iBT and IELTS tests are valid for two years from the test date, while the Emirates Standardized Test is valid for 18 months. Only approved standardized tests (i.e., those taken at test centers) are considered for acceptable English proficiency tests.
Exemption applications submitted by eligible students (by passport or nationality) who are citizens of the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand and have completed their undergraduate and master’s degrees in those countries (if applicable) are considered. They must also submit certified copies of their transcripts during the application process and certified documents upon acceptance. Exemption decisions will be made within seven (7) days of fulfilling all requirements.
Submitting a Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) certificate is optional and is considered an additional advantage when evaluating applicants.
In a 500-1,000-word essay, the applicant must outline why they want to join the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. The essay must include the following:
Applicants are required to nominate references to recommend their applications. Applicants for master’s programs must nominate at least two references: one from the faculty, professor, or research advisor in a course previously attended, and the other from the applicant’s current or previous supervisor .
Therefore, to avoid any problems or delays in submitting a recommendation, applicants must inform their references of their nomination in advance and provide accurate information about them through the online application portal. References will receive automated notifications once the application is submitted.
All applicants with complete applications, including the required number of letters of recommendation, will be invited to take an online admissions exam to assess their knowledge and skills. It should be noted that completing this exam is not mandatory; however, it is strongly recommended, as it will provide additional information to the evaluation committee. Exemption is recommended only for students who can provide strong evidence of their research abilities, experience, and technical skills.

Mathematics: Calculus, Probability Theory, Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, Optimization
Programming: Knowledge of specific programming concepts and principles such as algorithms, data structures, logic, object-oriented programming (OOP), and recursion, as well as specific knowledge of the Python programming language
Specialization topics:
(Only for applicants for the Master of Computer Science degree): Knowledge and understanding of computing theory, computational complexity, databases, computer architecture, and operating systems.
