The panel discussion, titled: "Creating a Bolder Digital Future Together," focused on the future of artificial intelligence (AI), a need for further developing ethical guidelines to govern AI, and the overall impact of AI on human society. Joining Xing on the panel were renowned MIT Professor, AI scientist, and member of the MBZUAI Board of Trustees, Daniela Rus, and Dr. Seth Dobrin, Global Chief AI Officer at IBM.

MBZUAI and the Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, Sunday, October 17, to develop a specialized learning journey on artificial intelligence. Abu Dhabi’s AI university launches a 12-week crash course for UAE government and business leaders

The new program also plays into the UAE’s broader AI ambitions, according Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology (and chairman of MBZUAI’s board of trustees). The consultancy PwC estimates that AI could contribute some $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, and the UAE has repeatedly stated its intention to grab a sizable chunk of that market. Just this week, the UAE unveiled its roadmap for the next 50 years, allocating AED 5 billion ($1.36B) to drive industries toward the Fourth Industrial Revolution over the next five years—and generate AED 25 billion ($6.81B) in the process.
