Office of the Provost

Reporting to the president, the provost oversees the academic integrity of the university and provides leadership in student affairs; budgeting and planning; curriculum and program development; research; and compliance with various accreditation agencies and requirements. The role of the provost's office is to support the academic mission of an organization, typically a university or college. Responsibilities of the provost's office typically include:
  • Setting academic policy and planning
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of academic programs
  • Managing the budget and resources for academic departments and programs
  • Hiring and supervising the deans of each academic division
  • Representing the academic side of the institution in administrative decision-making
  • Serving as the chief academic officer and chief budget officer of the institution
  • Advising the president or chancellor on academic matters
  • Managing the accreditation process for the institution
  • overseeing the faculty affairs
  • Managing the university's research efforts
  • Supporting student academic success initiatives and partnerships
  • Representing the institution with external organizations and agencies
 

Student recruitment and admissions

Student recruitment and admissions oversees all aspects of the recruitment and admissions process. It is responsible for planning and implementing MBZUAI’s student recruitment and admissions strategies and ensuring that the quality and volume of new students are aligning with the university’s objectives

Registrar

The Registrar’s Office provides quality support services to students that include, but not limited to, maintaining and preserving the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and security of all academic records. In addition, providing services to create and support course registration, classroom assignment, degree audit, enrollment verification, and issuing transcripts and diplomas.
