Stanford Professor of Computer Science Yoav Shoham will speak as part of the MBZUAI Executive Program. Considered a leading AI expert, Shoham is a Fellow of AAAI, ACM and the Game Theory Society. As part of a virtual Executive Program class session Shoham will present on lingual cognition and intelligence.
Shoham is a widely celebrated academician. He has received the IJCAI Research Excellence Award, the AAAI/ACM Allen Newell Award, and the ACM/SIGAI Autonomous Agents Research Award. He has also founded several AI companies, including TradingDynamics (acquired by Ariba), Katango and Timeful (acquired by Google), and AI21 Labs.
Shoham currently chairs the AI Index initiative (www.AIindex.org), which tracks global AI activity and progress, and WeCode (www.wecode.org.il), a nonprofit initiative to train high-quality programmers from disadvantaged populations. He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University.
