Rodrigo Yaniz, Vice Minister for International Economic Relations of Chile, led a delegation of officials from Chile during a visit to the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the world’s first graduate-level, research-based artificial intelligence (AI) university. Hosted by senior representatives from the university, the delegation toured the Masdar City campus and learnt about MBZUAI’s vision for using AI as a transformative tool for positive progress, while discussing the possibility of collaborative research in the future. Vice Minister Yaniz was joined for the visit by His Excellency Jorge Daccarett, Ambassador of Chile to the UAE, and Giovanni Cisternas, Deputy Head of Mission.
The delegation was hosted by Professor Sir Michael Brady, Interim President of MBZUAI via video call, with on-ground faculty including Dr. Behjat Al Yousuf, Executive Vice President for Outreach and Engagement and Acting Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ling Shao, Executive Vice President and Provost; and Reem Al Orfali, Director of Student Affairs.
