Visiting Associate Professor of Project Management

Research Interests

Professor Kanabar’s teaching and research interests span project management, program and portfolio management, business analysis, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging approaches to technology-enabled education. An experienced educator, he has taught more than 20 core courses in Business, Project Management, and Computing. Professor Kanabar is also a certified PMP and Agile Practitioner. Author of several books and journal publications, he is widely recognized for his leadership in advancing project management education, including his role in leading PMI’s global project management curriculum initiatives.

In addition to his position at MBZUAI, Professor Kanabar has served as an Associate Professor and Director at Boston University for more than 30 years, bringing extensive experience in teaching, academic leadership, and program development. Earlier in his academic career, he taught at the University of Alberta and subsequently served as a tenured professor at the University of Winnipeg.
