Professor Ramesh's teaching and research interests span human-computer interaction, applied AI, science and technology studies, and public policy.

Prior to joining MBZUAI, Professor Ramesh was an Assistant Professor of Human-Centered Computing at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Charlotte. Professor Ramesh was also a Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. She obtained her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Professor Ramesh has spent research stints at Google Research and Microsoft Research, and was a deep learning engineer/R & D lead at a California-based computer vision startup called CloudSight Inc.
