Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) is the world’s first graduate AI research university and is already ranked in the world’s top 20 by CSRankings for AI. Currently MBZUAI is home to 230 Master’s students and 135 PhD students and over 80 world leading faculty members led by its President, Eric Xing. The university offers MSc and PhD degrees in five programs: machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, robotics, and computer science. The MBZUAI is looking for a faculty member to deliver courses in the Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence, and Graduate Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence programs. The vision of the program is to educate tomorrow’s innovators and leaders in application of artificial intelligence for solving organizational and societal problems and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the UAE.

Faculty Profile

Applicants must have a PhD in computer science or in a closely related area prior to the start of the appointment and should have demonstrated excellence in conducting innovative and impactful research and applying advanced technologies in solving real business challenges, and an interest in mentoring graduate students.

This appointment involves delivering courses for a master’s in applied artificial intelligence program for mid-to senior level career professionals and requires industry experience and knowledge of the AI business environment. The faculty shall deliver world-class education and student experience with innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The faculty will engage with industry to discover innovative industry projects, continuously develop the rigor and relevance of the course curriculum, and support students in their research projects.

The faculty will supervise student internships and industry research projects and liaise with industry partners for the achievement of the program learning outcomes. Industry engagement further involves sourcing experts and qualified guest lecturers for the program.

The faculty shall maintain an appropriate scholarly or professional development activity and keep up to date with developments in the field as necessary to carry out the duties of the position. They shall contribute to the overall work of the university by representing the institution and faculty on appropriate committees and groups. The faculty shall follow scientific developments in the field and participate in societal interaction and international cooperation in his/her field.
