Emma Cantwell has 20 years’ experience working in marketing and communications in the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, and Australia. Her passion is in supporting organizations and their senior leaders to define brand strategy which translates into integrated communications - both internally and externally - from internal culture to strategic communications.
Her most recent role was a six-year tenure leading the 20-strong marketing and communications team at Louvre Abu Dhabi which included the opening of the landmark museum in November 2017. In her capacity, she oversaw both domestic and international marketing strategies for the museum, including media relations and crisis communications, advertising, and digital marketing as well as management of the brand in close collaboration with the Louvre in France.
Prior to her role at Louvre Abu Dhabi, Cantwell spent five years working on a number of Abu Dhabi’s cultural projects including Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the exhibition centre Manarat Al Saadiyat, the art fair Abu Dhabi Art, and many other projects establishing Saadiyat Island as a lifestyle and tourism destination.
Cantwell has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Charles Sturt University, Australia and a Diploma of Education, Secondary Teaching from the University of New England, Australia. She received a Martechvibe award for 'women in marketing' in 2021 and her work has won numerous awards including a Golden Lion at Cannes, the industry's most prestigious accolade.
