Vaishnav Kameswaran

Assistant Professor of Human-Computer Interaction

Research Interests

Professor Kameswaran's teaching and research interests span Human-Computer Interaction and Accessibility. His work explores the socio-technical dimensions of access and examines how novel technologies can center the capabilities of people with disabilities. He uses community-based participatory research (CBPR) and qualitative methods to center community knowledge and create sustainable interventions.

Prior to joining MBZUAI, Professor Kameswaran was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Values-Centered Artificial Intelligence (VCAI) initiative at the University of Maryland, College Park. He has also held research roles at Microsoft Research and Google Research, where his work informed the development of Soundscape and Palm2 respectively.
