Research Interests

Professor Mangul's teaching and research interests span computational biology, bioinformatics, and data-driven approaches for integrating omics and biomedical data into translational research, with a focus on immunogenomics, genomic data infrastructure, and improving representation across diverse populations.

In addition to his position at MBZUAI, Professor Mangul serves on the National Library of Medicine (NLM) Board of Regents Working Group on the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) Strategic Transformation; previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Computational Biology at the University of Southern California and completed his postdoctoral training in computational genomics at UCLA.
