Georgios Pavlopoulos

Visiting Professor of Computational Biology

Research Interests

Professor Pavlopoulosís teaching and research interests span bioinformatics across the full stack of data-driven life sciences, with emphasis on genomics and metagenomics, biological networks, and large-scale data integration and mining. He develops computational methods for analyzing planetary-scale metagenomes and organizing novel protein families. He also teaches topics spanning graph/network biology and algorithmic foundations for multi-omics analysis.

Professor Pavlopoulos's lab's portfolio extends to text mining, interactive data visualization, big-data analytics, and high-performance computing, with applications in knowledge representation and personalized medicine.
