Augusto Guerra

Visiting Associate Professor of Epidemiology

Research Interests

Professor Guerra's teaching and research interests span pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, health technology assessment (HTA), pharmaceutical policy, and health policy configuration, with particular emphasis on the real-world effectiveness, safety, and value of high-cost medicines and advanced therapies. His work integrates epidemiologic methods, causal inference, and real-world evidence (RWE) with genomic and pharmacogenomic data to support evidence-based decision-making in healthcare systems.

Professor Guerra is particularly interested in combining genomics, AI-enabled analytics, and population-based data to evaluate treatment effectiveness and survival outcomes, heterogeneity of response, and value-based pricing of innovative medicines, especially in oncology and rare diseases.
