Reporting to the President, the Provost oversees the academic integrity of the University and provides leadership in educational affairs; budgeting and planning; curriculum and program development, research, and compliance with various accreditation agencies and requirements.

It is a huge honour to serve as the University’s Provost.
Along with my highly credentialed and dedicated team, I aim to uphold the highest levels of academic accomplishment and integrity and nurture the culture of curiosity, impact and innovation that we have created at MBZUAI in its formation years. Through fostering and recognizing the power of diversity and excellence in all facets of the University, at all levels, we have created a challenging, but nurturing environment for all to grow and prosper and where research can flourish.

MBZUAI was established to develop practical solutions to real-world problems – creating disruptive tools and products that will positively impact the world and equip Abu Dhabi with the necessary skills and expertise to secure its position at the forefront of AI innovation to contribute towards the nation building aspirations of the National AI Strategy.
It’s a privilege to serve in this role and, in doing so, contribute to making Abu Dhabi and the UAE a world-leading hub for AI. It’s a fascinating and powerful narrative to be able to contribute to.
Academic Appointments
The university's faculty are leaders in their respective area(s) of expertise. The office of the provost supports faculty from the recruitment phase, all the way through their time at the institution. MBZUAI, as is its mandate, will continue to pursue and secure top faculty talent from around the world to Abu Dhabi.
Educational Affairs
The Educational Affairs team support students and researchers at all points through the student journey from onboarding, through daily life on campus, supporting the process of finding internships and then future job opportunities for our graduates.
