Ethiopia’s State Minister for Innovation and Technology meets with MBZUAI

The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the first graduate-level, research-based artificial intelligence (AI) university in the world, hosted a delegation of senior government officials from Ethiopia at the University’s campus in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmedin Mohammed, Ethiopia’s State Minister for Innovation and Technology led the delegation and was joined by His Excellency Mr. Suleiman Dedefo, Ambassador of Ethiopia to the UAE; Mr. Muluken Kere, Director General of Technology and Innovation Institute; Dr. Taye Girma, Deputy Director General, Artificial Intelligence Institute, and Yodahe Zemichael, Technology Advisor to the Prime Minister.

Hosted by Dr. Behjat Al Yousuf, MBZUAI Executive Vice President for Outreach and Engagement, and Reem Al Orfali, Director of Student Affairs, the Ethiopian delegation toured the University’s campus, labs and classrooms, and discussed the potential for research collaborations and partnerships in the field of AI.
