His Royal Highness Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Regent of Pahang, and His Excellency Mohd Tarid Sufian, Ambassador of Malaysia to the UAE, visited Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the world’s first graduate-level, research-based artificial intelligence (AI) university.

Accompanying the senior delegation were Dr. Behjat Al Yousuf, MBZUAI Executive Vice President for Outreach and Engagement, and Dr. Hosni Ghedira, Director of Engagement Services at MBZUAI, who gave them a tour of the University campus in Masdar City.

The visit offered the delegation a firsthand look at MBZUAI’s facilities, which will soon welcome students from 31 countries when they commence coursework in January 2021. In addition to touring the University, the delegation discussed the potential for collaboration between MBZUAI and educational institutes in Malaysia, how AI can best be leveraged to benefit society and the economy, and the ways in which MBZUAI’s curriculum will shape AI experts who will go on to lead the field in the future.
