H.E. Jassem Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi

Chairman of the Department of Finance

His Excellency Jassem Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi has been the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Finance Department since April 2019. Also he has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the UAE Central bank in 2021.

He is the Director General of the National Electronic Security Authority (NESA).

He is currently the Chairman of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) – one of the leading multipurpose (commercial and governmental) satellite communications system to be launched in the region.

Al Zaabi also serves on the Boards of Emirates Telecommunication Integrated Company (du) and the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).

Before joining NESA, Al Zaabi was the Executive Director of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Unit of Mubadala managing the investments in the ICT sector.

Prior to joining Mubadala in 2003, Jassem worked with the UAE Offsets Group, who are actively involved in technology and industrial project development.

He also worked with Thuraya Satellite Communications Company for four years as the Business Development Area Manager for the GCC region and Egypt.

He holds an MBA from the London Business School.
