Jon Carvill

Jon Carvill is Vice President of Marketing and Communications at MBZUAI, with over 20 years of experience leading strategic marketing and communications across top global tech and media companies.

Before joining MBZUAI, Jon was Senior Director of Communications for AI at Meta, where he led global communications for Meta AI, FAIR, and the Llama foundation models, shaping the company’s AI narrative. He previously served as Vice President of Marketing at NUVIA, guiding efforts that led to its $1.4 billion acquisition by Qualcomm.

Jon has held leadership communications and marketing roles at Intel, Facebook, Vevo, Qualcomm, GlobalFoundries, and AMD — consistently driving impactful results in support of brand, product, and technology leadership.

He holds a BA in Communications from Royal Roads University and an Associate’s Degree in Public Relations from Algonquin College.
