University community mourns

The MBZUAI community mourns the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. We offer our sincere condolences to the Royal family, to the UAE Government, and to the people.

News of the President’s passing was announced Friday, May 13, 2022 by the state news agency WAM. At that time the Ministry of Presidential Affairs declared 40 days of official mourning with flags at half staff, and three days of closure of ministries and official entities at the federal and local levels as well as the private sector.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was laid to rest Friday, May 13 after the maghrib prayer and an official mourning period began on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
