Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) is the world’s first graduate AI research university and is already ranked in the world’s top 20 by CSRankings for AI. Currently MBZUAI is home to 230 Master’s students and 135 PhD students and over 80 world leading faculty members led by its President, Eric Xing. The university offers MSc and PhD degrees in five programs: machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, robotics, and computer science. The Computer Vision Department expects to continue its growth from our current size of 12-15 Faculty to 18-20 over the coming year.  We are therefore seeking applications for new faculty appointments, and invite candidates at all levels, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor to apply. The CV department undertakes rigorous, high-impact, and original research. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, visual recognition and tracking, vision and language, large multimodal models, generative AI, responsible AI, 3D vision and SLAM. Applications of CV that we target include: robotic vision and embodied AI; metaverse; environment and sustainability; inspection.

Applicants must have a PhD in Computer Vision or in a closely related area prior to the start of the appointment, and should have demonstrated excellence in conducting innovative and impactful research, and an interest in mentoring graduate students.
